Mens + Meeuw
I graduated art school with a project about seagulls. Not only about the animal, more about "our" perspective on this animal. I looked into "our" relation to nature. I found it fascinating that inhabitants of the city of Rotterdam, when they talk about nature, immediately talk about the trees and the bees and the beautiful flowers and birds. NOT about rats, mosquitos and... seagulls.

This made me wonder; how come? I researched the lifestyle of these birds and why people seem to dislike them so much. The latter does not take much research. It is because they are opportunistic, just like us. (people) In the survey I held about the nuisance of seagulls the answer was clear; they're loud, steal your lunch and shit everywhere.

The way we scape our living environment creates a suitable habitat for these opportunists. This is where the friction starts....
